Description

ताजमहाल हे तेजोमहालय आहे (Taj Mahal is Tejo Mahalaya) is a book written by P. N. Oak. It was first published in 1965 by the author himself and was later republished by Raviraj Prakashan in 2000. The book argues that the Taj Mahal was not built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan as a tomb for his wife Mumtaz Mahal, but was originally a Hindu temple dedicated to the god Shiva. Oak's claims have been widely disputed by historians, who argue that there is no evidence to support his claims and that the Taj Mahal was clearly built as a tomb for Mumtaz Mahal. However, Oak's book has remained popular with some Hindu nationalists, who see it as evidence of a Hindu past in India that was destroyed by Muslim invaders. The book is divided into three parts. The first part provides a brief history of the Taj Mahal, from its construction in the 16th century to its present status as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The second part presents Oak's evidence for the temple theory, including architectural evidence, historical evidence, and religious evidence. The third part discusses the implications of Oak's claims for the history of India. Oak's book has been praised by some Hindu nationalists for its presentation of evidence that supports the temple theory. However, it has also been criticized by historians for its lack of supporting evidence and its biased interpretation of historical sources. Despite the controversy, Oak's book remains a popular work of Hindu nationalist literature.
